Sunny South

I know....it's about time. I haven't had a chance to blog here...but I AM BACK!! Let's see ... where have I been. Well two weeks ago I made a trip down to Calgary and Donna and I visited The Big Rock just a few km west of Okotoks. Amazing to see how a glacier dumped this rock in the middle of nowhere!

This is not to be confused with "Da Rock"

Then it was off to The Saskatoon Farm which is just east of Okotoks across Highway 2. What an interesting place...and the food was yummy...no Donna, you can't eat that! It's fake! But the Saskatoon rice pudding was out of this world!

They had some great shops (even got a Christmas gift bought). Not bad!

Then I met the rooster! He thought he owned the place. Every once in a while he would start to crow. And yes....he is real!

No Donna, you can't be the Sheriff!

All in all it was a super weekend....you never know what you will find just a few miles from where you live!

Yippee....a long weekend

I have been looking forward to this extra long weekend for a month! It is always good to spend it with friends...so off Carole and I went on Thursday after work heading for the sunny south....(that would be Calgary). Unfortunately John was on his way to Africa today and Shawna has been globe trotting...I think she is now in Belfast....so that left Donna...all by her lonesome. So we spent last evening watching movies til 2 am and got up late, had breakfast and headed off to Strathmore Heritage Rodeo. Guess what....I outdid myself today....just kidding! I took one whole picture...had to be a good one though cause Carole wanted to show Shawna over on the other side of the world that there is even a bit of good ole England in this neck of the woods! Check it out Shawna....A CADBURY'S 99!!! Yummy! We did have one each because Carole certainly wasn't willing to share even the slightest lick!
