We are so fortunate to live in St. Albert and to be able to experience the many trails thoughout the city. In particular are the wetlands which are only a short distance from my home. After church today I changed into shorts and sandals, grabbed my camera gear and set off! If you look closely there are surprises hidden in the reeds along the way...red winged black birds, various species of ducks, a Heron which I was pleasantly surprised to see, and last but not least, an osprey which was pointed out to us by an avid bird watcher. It has made its nest in one of the light towers which you will see in the last photo. The tower was very far away so I decided to take a shot and when I blew up the photo, there it was, perched on a railing on the left side of the tower. My day was made! Here are some of the photos that I took today. I hope we never take for granted what has been placed so precariously at our own back doors. These wetlands are so fragile and we need to be good stewards of what God has given us!
