Welcome To "Ever Ready"

Finally I have launched into the "blogging world"! I know it has taken long enough, but what an opportunity to share like interests with others. And just what are my interests? Ahh....photography...YES ....which I will begin to share with you....and golfing....hard to share that one, but no less enjoyable. Thanks for visiting, and hopefully I will be able to spend some time in getting this up and running....hmm...kind of like a battery...hence the name Ever Ready.

Sunday Strolling July 15th 2007

Well it was another warm day today ... +30....argh. After church we had a bite to eat and then went to one of the landscaping places on 137th ave "Wellington". It is a great place just to stroll around and enjoy the flowers and browse through some of the little shops. We suggested to the manager that he should think about putting in a little teahouse and he responded by saying that it was actually being considered. I thought I would take along my camera today and take a few shots...so here you go...

While I was taking some shots one of the gardeners came by to say hello and said "one good thing about photos is that you can sit back and enjoy them without having to make sure they are watered and fertilized" to which I responded that it was even more so in my case because I don't have a green thumb at all!

I think it was even too hot for the bugs today. But I did manage to catch a photo of a dragonfly and they eat mosquitoes which is fine by me.

We then went to one of St Albert's parks which is very close to where we live and I decided to take a few shots of some of the flowers that were growing there. All in all it was a good day!

Stampede Weekend Sunday July 9th 2007

Then it was off to Spruce Meadows on Sunday afternoon before we left to go back to Edmonton. Some of us walked while others (mentioning no names) hitched a ride....

Others were up to no good!

All in their places with bright shiny faces...

Then of course there are those "wannabees"

And while Shawna was exercising her photographic and tutoring skills....some of us went on to better things....ahem

They said it was because they wanted to see inside the tank.....right!!!

Carole does better on the outside of one of these things than she does on the inside!

Stampede Weekend July 7th 2007

I can't believe it has been this long since I have posted anything! CNIB Calgary office asked if I would drive down from Edmonton and take a few shots of the fragrance garden which I was happy to do.... We drove down on thursday evening and then I spent Friday morning taking these photos while the Calgary Stampede was in full swing.
Peonies are not my favorite flower but I kind of like this particular one with its many shades and red centre!

These are a few of the shots that I took...

I always think of my sister Trudy when I see Daisies as they are her favorite flower......

As you can see .... it was a bright sunny day!

Nature at work!!

The shades of pink on the roses were gorgeous!
